National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece): Conference “Orthodox Theology in the 21st Century. Challenges and Perspectives”

From November 24 to 28, 2024, Sister Vassa will be participating in the International Conference “Orthodox Theology in the 21st Century. Challenges and Perspectives.” It will take place in Athens, at the Theological School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Sister’s talk is entitled, “Canonicity” as a Weapon in Russia’s War Against Ukraine.

The Conference is part of the series of International Theological Conferences held in Athens during the 20th century (1936 and 1976) and aims to highlight, investigate and contribute to the key issues and problems that concern Orthodox Theology at a pan-Orthodox level in the 21st century. Specifically, the Conference will examine the position and mission of Orthodox Theology and the Church in the new historical, geopolitical, social and cultural conditions, in order to re-express its rich heritage, ministry, prophetic witness and function in the modern world.
