St. Paraskevi Church, Long Island (USA): Parish Youth Talk

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1:00pm Sister Vassa will give a talk at St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church in Greenlawn, New York, on the topic, “Overcoming Fear through Faith: The Daily Challenge that Leads Us to Growth”. In this talk, which will be preceded by a luncheon, Sister Vassa will reflect, on the one hand, on the challenges of fear, loneliness and disorientation, which might accompany us daily in our 24/7 Internet Age. On the other hand, she will offer some thoughts on the tools we have at our disposal in “Orthodox” Christian tradition, which we can pick up, to refocus daily and move forward on our cross-carrying journeys. We can rise up to the challenges of our time on a daily basis, growing in the process, in faith, hope, love, wisdom and patience, becoming ever-more useful to ourselves and God and others.
