“’My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.’ The Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, ‘I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of these do you stone me?’” (Jn 10: 27-32)
When our Lord asks, “I have shown you many good works…; for which of these do you stone me?” – is He being witty, and even sarcastic? Yes, He is.
That’s all I wanted to note about today’s reading; that our Lord Jesus Christ could be witty, even amidst our stone-throwing morbidity. Glory be to Him.
